Due to some search for a schematic rendering of NS Elkhart Yard I finally found out what route the yard is a part of. What I am looking for now is any info to NS related sites where they would focus on the water level route. I had to search under Conrail to find this info and there seems to be a lot of information for many other Norfolk Southern routes but not this one. I bring this up in regards to wanting to do an Elkhart sim for TD3. I did a Yahoo search to see about any other sites other than what I have seen mentioned on this one to no avail.
Does anyone else know where I can check into this more in depth?

I live in South Bend and the NS mainline runs along old 33 which turns into Lincolnway East once you get into Mishawaka. About half way through South Bend the CN doulbe track main meets up to make a busy four track main through to the Westside of town. What I would like to do is find out what trains frequent Elkhart Yard and design a yard sim with an accurate train schedule for both East and West bound trains.

This link shows the yard under NYC ownership. It now has with what I found under CR 16 recieving tracks 72 classification tracks and 16 departure tracks. They also have diesel and car service unless NS made other changes. I'd like to show trains departing and arriving from Airline Yard in Toledo, Cincinnati, other key points east as well as Chicago traffic. I see a lot of hot intermodals and a fair share of BNSF and UP power come through here as well. The busiest time though is at night. You can usually here one after another highball through town after dark. There are also occasional crew changes for CP at the Amtrack station in Elkhart. There are also many two, three and four train meets right in the east end yard entrance by the station. This is traffic waiting for clearance to enter and exit and this is why I thought it would make a fun and interesting sim for TD3. There is a sim already under CR for Elkhart to Toledo so I thought since I know the yard somewhat it would be fun to try and replicate the yard itself. I just need some help getting started and finding train info for realism.
