Abandoned track

Does anyone know who to contact at NS about railroad signals that are roadside? I noticed at Osaka ,VA near Stonega that most the track has 6-8 feet trees growing up the center and then a lot of the track is just gone. I was just curious if they ever come back to get these signals or if the track has been abandoned does what's left belong to the property owner. There are some nice old NS signals and signs just sitting there rusting away. I thought about asking if someone could get them with permission to restore or if in fact the railroad eventually comes and tears them down.
