An update after school peaked my interest just a little... a GP38-2 was leading a mainline train down the First District. I grabbed my camera and started my drive toward Burgin. After seeing it clear Brown I decided against and went to the private crossing at Faulkner. Chasing it from Faulkner to the yard in Danville, I was hoping to get it by the searchlights in Bowen, but after talking to the Conductor that was not going to happen today. NS 936 would be tied down for the night in the west yard. However, after 3 stops in 10 miles it was a satisfying day.

It's so sad how rare Southern power is becoming on the Southern.. yet, it seems that if you look anywhere north of the Mason-Dixon, you'll find it. I think that says something about the quality of engines and their owners going back to pre-NS time...

You're right Chip, I believe I have seen the 5130 many times working locals out of Reading and Allentown, PA.

I never noticed the Southern lettering wearing through though, will definitely start paying attention more for stuff like that! Nice shots!
