Lots of good action today. Heard through the railfan grapevine consisting of facebook groups, and a few text messages, that we had a heritage unit, union pacific units, and some old war bonnets in town today.

First up a 27WTA23 with the two old Santa Fe units tied down in the dark at the mixing center in Shelbyville. More on this later.

Next in to town was 22A with the Lehigh Valley trailing but facing West. How they will get this back out on 23G remains to be seen. Either it will need to dpu or they will have to turn it or pull it off and stick it on another train.

Next up was another Westbound train a 29W with a single dash nine.

After 29W went West then Eastbound 23G came in to Whitner to finish building the train.

After 23G went East dispatch told them to hold at Tucker the next siding East of the intermodal yard for three Westbound trains.

First up was T79 with the two war bonnets that were left at the Mixing Center in Shelbyville.

NS 239 then came through.

Followed by another 27W this one a 27WTA24 with two Union Pacific units.

And the last train of the day I watched go by was an Eastbound NS 111 with UP, BNSF, and NS power.

I hate all those overhead wires at Whitner but it's safe from citizens calling you in as a terrorist for taking train pictures, the NS police leave you alone, and the business located there is railfan friendly.
