In the first part of this mediocre image orgy, we left out when Westbound rack train 287 arrived at the Ford mixing center at Shelbyville KY. As ofter happens, after the 287 had yarded his train, a new crew for train 275 got on that power and made up a outbound 275.  The power was not tunred, so that meant the crusty ol Conrail C39-8 would be leading back East.

A boring ol roster shot of the 8200 at East Joyes. Dig those fancy painted grab irons...

Outbound 275 makes a double as he gets his train together at the mixer..

The radio shows signs of a upcoming 4 train meet at Waddy, so we headed back that way while 275 finished his work. We got there just intime to shoot a 61A Steel train with a groovacious Conrail SD70 leading. 61A is seen here at the infamous turtle tree crossing at Waddy.

Another boring ol roster shot of NS SD70 2579..

61A eased down all the way to the West End, allowing for a most excellent "sweet light" head on shot.

Train 224 has a pair of dirty birds leading as they ease in tight behind the 61A at Waddy

The last shot of the day..the rear of 61A is draped over the hill with 224 setting behind them, waiting to meet 275

In the second pic, the track that is to the left of the Joyes siding, is that the Mixer lead?

The engineer in the "sweet light" shot is really taking it easy(feet kicked up, smoking a pipe). Or as Lester Flatt puts it--"Set a spell."  ;D
