You know what they say, sometimes you get the bear, sometimes it gets you...anyway.

After sleeping late and missing the usual morning parade, I decided it was to pretty to just sit around the house on my only day off for Two weeks, so I ventured forth into the sunshine for a few trains. The CNO&TP was DEAD..I sat out at North Wye for almost Two hours and all I saw was a 230 coming directly out of the sun, and a 287 limping around with a dead engine.  I popped 287 off the Buster Pike Bridge (like I really need more shots from there) and then headed back towards the house, getting a 23G and 111 in the process. Worst part, not a single EMD to be seen...should have just stayed in the bed..

287 starts around the Wye after having air troubles up near Brown.

Eastbound 111 at Vanarsdale, getting ready to head in at Talamge to meet 284

Following right behind the 23G was train 111, running on 23G's bad blocks. I went for a new angle here at my favorite place after a litlte tree trimming.

Nice shots, Mr. Bell!!! ;)

Do you think the trees will survive and try to bloom again this year?  I have a feeling we will be seeing alot of  brown instead of green this year.  :-\

Mike:

I'm seeing a few bouncing back from the freeze already. This was one of those "once every seven years" type of freezes.

Emmett:

Look at it this way, at least 287 was the better of the three.  ;)

I don know if many of these trees will have leaves this year or not. The sudden freeze we had wont kill off the tree's themselves, but the early budding was a bad thing. Almost everything except the evergreens and such have no foliage  at all right now, and most show no signs of bouncing back...only time will tell.
