Yesterday, the Lackawanna heritage unit came through Kentucky on the lead of NS 289. Normally, whenever NS 289 has a heritage unit leading, it always comes down the CNO&TP in the cover of darkness. But, thanks to some delays, this 289 came through in daylight.

As always here is my Flickr if anyone wants to keep updated on stuff I don't post here, http://www.flickr.com/photos/46459752@N08/

Thanks to Tyler Hardin and his updates, I was able to get up to Burgin with some time to spare.

Following him up to North Wye, I was probably one of the very few, if not the only person, to get a shot of the Lackawanna in sunlight.  :)

After sitting an hour waiting for a fresh crew and fuel, NS 289 departs North Wye on its way toward Shelbyville.

As the sun went behind the clouds, the rain started to fall, albeit for just a brief moment as NS 289 comes through South Wye.

With a cloudy shot lined up, the sun decided to pop of for just a second as NS 289 navigates through Hogtown

UK tipped off at noon so I had to get home, here is the last shot of NS 289. After meeting 2 eastbounds, 289 blasts through the signals at West Talmage
