Hi folks!

I took Monday off to spend it with my dad and brother watching trains in an exotic location, a tradition we observe several times a year.

This trip was originally going to be a drive to the closest SEPTA station and a ride into Philly for a day of watching trains at 30th street station, but instead we decided to head to Harrisburg due to a possibility of catching some heritage units. I'll post our sightings here soon, in addition to photos.

I actually call it "All Day 11J" because typically it takes forever to get over the road. I've seen crews outlaw sitting for hours at Bethlehem, then again at Belt outside of Reading, etc.

Nice shots, Dan. Why does it take so long for 11J to get to Harrisburg?
Got questions? I can help you with the Erie Lackawanna (including predecessors), Lehigh Valley, Delaware & Hudson and the shortlines of upstate NY.

Thanks Matt! Not sure why it takes so long, and its not every day that it gets held up. I assume it may be because its an empty train with lower priority than the morning intermodal trains.
When it does get held though it usually sits for hours.
More photos should get posted tonight.

Nice shots! Cove, PA is a great place! Trains fly by on the main, slowly on the siding... and noone really bothers you. All good things! DE Dan.
