Unless you've been living under a rock, you've probably heard about the snowstorm that hit the Northeast 3 days ago. I ventured forth yesterday... and NS's Southern Tier Mainline was running.

Westbound 309 was on the Tier late in the morning, passing MP 384 around 11:30 AM.

I was a few miles southeast of CP Linden. A fellow railfan (Brian) had a scanner, and we figured out that a train had been held there to let 309 pass. About 10 minutes later, 13T passed us... heading eastbound.

All photos in this post were taken by me Sunday 2/10/2013 in Middlebury, NY. The afternoon lull set in and I didn't see another train on the Tier yesterday. Even so, it was a nice day to be trackside.
Got questions? I can help you with the Erie Lackawanna (including predecessors), Lehigh Valley, Delaware & Hudson and the shortlines of upstate NY.

At least you caught a couple of trains! Nice shots! Dan

Thanks. The snow was about 8" deep in Middlebury. We got about a foot in greater Rochester. I wonder how the storm affected the Pan Am Southern operations in New England- they got 2 to 3 feet of snow there.
