Along with some of my friends, I had an enjoyable weekend traveling to Cincinnati to attend Summerail. I grabbed a few NS shots going and coming, three of which I posted on Rail Pictures. One other shot is attached--a northbound at the crossover at Revilo, KY.

I knew the Reading unit was on the prowl on the Brown coal train, but we were shooting on the run, and I missed it. At least EM got it.

I told Starnes to just blame me if yall got on him for being late.. We got some decent shots though. I think he is a lot like me, would rather be out taking pictures than looking at them  :P

Well....he finally showed up near evening break time. He told me he had linked up with you.

In my case, it's more of a function of age--but I seem to enjoy doing something with the shots I've already taken rather than getting out to shoot something new (or in the case of Summerail, seeing what others have done with their images). The subject matter today doesn't inspire me the way the trains (and railroads) of years past do, but I can occasionally find a spark of inspiration to charge up the Nikon's batteries and head for the tracks. I'm not ready to throw in the towel! If the sun's right, and the power is clean, even an NS "catfish" can look good in an image. Sure, it's not an F7, an Alco PA or even a Southern SD45 running long hood forward, but it can be interesting.
