Unknown rack train, might be 239..

I'm going to chain saw that tree down one night. I need to find someone to drive and I'm gonna jump out and saw it down while they turn around and come back and get me.

07-11-2012 & 07-12-2012 Westbound stack trains.

I have not seen a 22A with a dpu in a while. Both of these had three units up front no dpu. I saw a post on Railfan & Railroads facebook page with a 22A with three units up front and no dpu.. I don't know if these are 22A or not. Both arrived earlier in the day then the other stack trains (224) with two units.

Not sure if this was a 111 or 167 but it had 4 unit running elephant style and was all hoppers and tankcars.

I think I have seen enough black & white units to last me for a bit.

Unless E.M. or some other kind railfan texts/calls/emails me that a heritage unit is on the way I am probably going to enjoy the AC inside for the rest of the summer.

It's funny you say that... because I have to travel at least 40 minutes to get from where I live to the nearest point on NS. I work just 2 blocks from the CSX main (Chicago Line) and I'm enjoy it... but NS is a welcome change. I'll even take days off to chase NS. Long story short, I enjoy your pics because I normally see NS about 1 or 2 times per month. Nice catch on the hammerhead run, too.
Got questions? I can help you with the Erie Lackawanna (including predecessors), Lehigh Valley, Delaware & Hudson and the shortlines of upstate NY.

It's reverse for me. NS is right up the street a mile and CSX is way on the other side of town and it seems every time I decide to drive over there it's a ghost town with tumbleweeds blowing by on empty rails. The time I waste driving there and back I can almost guarantee that I will see something on the NS.
