It looks like Emmett and a couple of the other jreb faithful had a wet day down south on Saturday. Ditto for yours truly up north. In my case, it would've been better for for the meteorologists to have been wrong... 'cause the forecast quite accurately predicted a cool, gray and mostly wet day.

This was my sole NS sighting for the day- a westbound auto rack approaching MP 387 on the Southern Tier Mainline.

Photo taken by me Saturday 10/1/2011 in Linden, NY. I had a closer shot of this train.. but the misty weather rendered that pic out of focus.  :(

Got questions? I can help you with the Erie Lackawanna (including predecessors), Lehigh Valley, Delaware & Hudson and the shortlines of upstate NY.

The tail end of the auto racks pass CP Linden, which is just west of the Molasses Hill Road crossing.

However, I did get some great shortline shots on the way home that I'm saving for a special jreb feature on NS's shortline partners in upstate NY and northern PA.
