Here are a few shots from this morning between Pomona and Hoskins.  This is the section undergoing the double track project.  Enjoy!

I started the day with 80 highballin through Pomona yard.

I decided to head south to watch the morning parade of mixed freights and a few stacks thrown in.  The double track project is about 9 miles long and is quite an undertaking.  Most of the areas have been cleared and the roadbed graded.  Here a SB passes the Hilltop DD at MP291.5 with an all EMD spartan cab lashup.

Further south in Jamestown the tracks have a nice raised S curve that is undergoing lots of work.  Here workers pause to watch a short NB.

Surprise of the day was a clean BNSF SD70ACe on the point haulin the mail through Jamestown.

This curve has been obstructed by trees for many years, now it is cleared and is a great place to sit and watch trains.  Here's a SB TOFC cresting the grade at Hilltop DD MP291.5

For the overcast and fog, you still manage some good shots.  Thanks for sharing.  They all look similar to trains I see here in Knoxville, even the BNSF power.  But the Amtrak would throw me for a loop.   Interesting to see that one in the mix.

I have a video of Hard Hat Harry that my son watches......about trains....and it has that Amtrak locomotive in it.   I'm sorry but that thing is ugly.  Just does nothing for me.   Maybe I'm just partial to freight trains.

Thanks for sharing those.

Thanks for the comment.  There has been alot of clearing of trees and brush for the double track project, so there are some nice new views that I haven't had the opportunity to shoot.

Yeah, you can see a lot of that in that first picture.   Bill commented on a lot of clearing that was done here in Knoxville about a month ago as well.   Nice for us.   There are so many places with brush / small trees that you can't see the tracks at all.    I haven't found many places in my area yet where I can get shots other than at crossings.

Keep the pics coming.  Very enjoyable.
