We're baaack.... ;)

This time train G29 arrived at the signal at Oglethrope Georgia for the NS/CSX crossing.  The signal was at stop and G29 watched as two CSX northbounds passed  through the diamond.

When the signal didn't clear, the G29 conductor attempted to operate the manual release located at the crossing.

TT special instructions say to push the button to request a clear signal, then observe the CSX signals.  If the CSX signals remain at stop, NS may take the signal and cross.

Unfortunately G29's conductor didn't observe the CSX signal and the train crossed with a stop signal still being displayed for NS.

A southbound CSX had already passed a clear signal north of town, and was approaching at track speed when they encountered a red signal and G29 crossing in front of them.  The CSX train stopped with 30 feet (!) to spare.

CSX notified NS of the situation and Trainmaster Sutton was sent in pursuit of G29.  The train was stopped at Smithville Georgia, the crew removed from the train, and taken for drug testing.  They remain out of service at this writing.
