2002 Whistle Stop Tour

It was an exciting day on October 10, 2002 when the Transcaer Whistle Stop Tour came to Knoxville. Hearing that something was up, I headed to the World's Fair Park to find out. Much to my suprise, The roads were closed, and a train was parked and on display on the K&A line that runs thru the park grounds. The NS Lawman band provided music and many NS employees from Roanoke and Norfolk were on hand to assist in the event.

The power, NS 2586 & NS 4611, was also on display and spotless!

Sadly, my photographs did not properly record on the film, due to an error I made while loading the film. This was a result of getting accustomed to using a then (new to me) used camera.

The train made six stops on it's run as follows:
October 7, 2002  Alexandria, VA
October 8, 2002  Spencer, NC
October 9, 2002  Asheville, NC
October 10, 2002 Knoxville, TN
October 11, 2002 Chattanooga, TN
October 12, 2002 Decatur, AL
