After spending the morning taking care of a few errands, I managed to get lucky on the way back home. The radio had been alive all morning with trains on the LS, and things where starting to congeal around Talmage (Ky) .  Click on the Thumbnails for a larger view.

A Parade of Eastbounds where strung out between Waddy and Talmage, meeting a few Westbounds. 283, 223, 167. 25E (is that a new train..anyone know??) and 60A where fighting there way towards Danville. I managed a couple of shots before the clouds started to roll in.   Click on the Thumbnails for a larger view.

NS 167 with a baby fish and two SD40-2's at Vanarsdale Ky

A pair of CSX SD40-2s lead NS 223 out of the siding at Talamge.

167 follows 223 through the siding. They will wait until 223 gets by Convoy before departing.

167 moves East out of the siding on an approach..the best signal they will see for awhile..

I wasnt able to get all the action, but it played out like this. Della, the East end DS, was a busy lady.   283 and 223 went in at Talmage to meet 112. 112 runs and 283 and 223 go to Danville. 112 meets 167 and 25E at Coalchute (just West of Lawrenceburg Ky) then the Two Eastbounds come to Talmage to meet a 22A. After 22A runs, 167 goes to Danville and 25E is told wiat at Talmage for a 224, not called at Danville until 1500. 60A meets 22A at Coalchute and then goes to Talmage to join 25E to wait for 224.

Meanwhile, There is a 375 and 287 are called at Danville, and three more Eastbounds, 23G, 44A and 111 between Joyes and Waddy Ky..with even more behind them..  The Louisville District is often overlooked in favor of its famous neighbor, the CNO&TP, but its a very busy, scenic 90 miles of railroad.
