After JR and myself changed our plans to not go to Fort Wayne today to follow the OCS back South (which seems to have been a good idea), we headed South early this morning to shoot the CNO&TP. The weather was perfect, plenty of trains and we scouted out some new spots. The plan for tomorrow (10-30) is to follow the OCS train South from New River TN to Chattanooga.

We are settled in for the night at the Fabulous Super 8 in Harriman TN, watching the trains roll by the front window (its a great railfan hotel..CS main is 250 feet across the US 27) and enjoying a cold beer...or two..or three (you should have joined us Paul).  Here is a quick sampling of what we shot.. I will do a complete trip report for today and tomorrow later this week.

The first stop this morning was the new river bridge, just South of Onidea TN. We got there about the same time that the OCS "should" get there on Tuesday...and this is what we saw...

About a hour later the fog was gone, and we got a 124 rolling North. We are going back up there in the morning, hoping the fog is not as bad, or the Passenger train is running a bit later than it is supposed to.

117 had a matched pair of new KCSM GE's, and we followed him from Parkers Lake KY to Sunbright TN, shooting him 7 or 8 times.  Here he is rolling south at Pakers Lake this Morning..

Later in the afternoon, NS 143 and 123 side by side at Oakdale TN

and one of the last trains of the Day..NS 196 at Hariman Jct TN.

Live from the Jreb Mobile Command Center at EG Tower TN....wish us luck on Tuesday
