Juinor and myself went out wandering around this past Saturday, looking for some new spots and seeing what kind of trouble we could stir up. We wound up catching a 287 crossing Highbridge and followed him West for the rest of the afternoon, being joined by Caleb around Waddy.  With a NS SD60 and a C39-8 still in Conrail paint, it seemed like a good idea. We followed the 287 out to the Mixing center at Shelbyville Ky, where the train died. Later that afternoon 287's power turned back on a 275, with the C39-8 leading. Here are a few (ok..a bunch)  from the afternoon..not bad considering we didnt even get started till after Noon..

Southbound train 215 sprints across single track at Mp 107 near Burgin Ky.

NS 144 at the same location as the above photo, from the bridge.

Jr shoots the 144 as he crosses over High Bridge.

Later in the afternoon, Westbound 287 grinds up Waddy hill with a long train of Racks for the Shelbyville mixing center.

287 rolls past the old McFarland road crossing, Mp 319W, on the Louisville District.

287 was moving slow waiting on rights at West Waddy, allowing another shot of him from the overhead bridge at the West end.

One last look at the 287, as they pull into the Ford mixing center at Shelbyville KY.

See part Two for the rest of the story..
