2 Killed in Louisville

2 people were killed in Louisville this afternoon by a westbound NS train.  Two others are hospitalized in critical condition.  The accident happened at the NS crossing on Crawford Avenue where the Buechel Depot sits.  The train was reported to be running at track speed (43 mph).  The crossing is guarded by lights but no gates.  The warning lights and bells were working and the train was blowing for the crossing.   A video of the accident is at http://www.wave3.com/clip/11233386/graphic-video-train-hits-car?clienttype=generic   WARNING: The video is graphic.  The video turned my stomach.  I can only imagine what the crew is experiencing.  Our prays are with the crew and the family of those making such a foolish mistake.

Updated story released late Thursday evening is that the driver has now passed away also. Severe brain injury. So the total is now 3 dead. They didn't release an update on the condition of the 4th occupant of the car.
