I had to go to the office this morning for awhile to take care of a few things, and while I was there got a text from Jreb member "CoalDiddy" about a pair of good, EMD leaders coming my way. They were already a good ways out of Louisville, and I didnt figure I would catch them, but luck was on my side once again.

Thanks to the (as usual) severe constipation on the Louisville District, I was able to get home and grab the camera and get trackside for a few shots (that seems to be a recurring theme this week). After a short wait, 712 (Coal Loads) got to me at Nevin Station (KY) for the first shot of the day. I tried to get back ahead of them but they beat me to Talmage (Those DP trains really move!!) and I settled for a shot of the DP units instead.  Running right behind the coal train was 167 with a nice SD70 leader, and I DID manage a couple of shots of that One!

The days results can be found at this link, and here are a few samples >>>>>  http://www.pbase.com/kd4jsl/ns_ls_2014_eb

NS 1027 (The Kalmbach Ace??) leads Eastbound loaded coal train 712 by the House track at Nevins Station, Ky  early this afternoon .

The DPU's are shoving hard on the bottom of 712 as the train passes the West End of Talmage

Eastbound 167 works up the hill towards the West end of Talmage, following close behind the 712.

NS SD70 #2560 leads Eastbound train 167 through the dip at Convoy, Ky on this Louisville District this afternoon. I can recall the first time I ever shot the 2560 with the "whiteface" paint job, leading the Derby train at Waddy back before the F units had that duty...she still looks pretty good!

Recently cut tobacco fields, a hint of color in the tree's along the Salt River and a cool breeze on a perfect September day....Fall is coming on fast here in Gods Country.
