It looks like train 123 has been reinstated.  I was told that it now originates in Frankfort, IN.  (It used to originate in Decatur, IL).  It will still terminate in Chattanooga.

Some changes... 64J/65J (trash) are now 66J/67J. 64R/Z4R are loaded oil trains to Reybold, DE. The empties are 65R/Z5R. 64N is oil trains to NJ with 65N being the empties. 64W is ethanol to NJ and empties are 65W. DE Dan.

Add on- H50 is local from Chrysler Yard in Newark, DE to Reybold, DE(Del City Refinery) and return.

Add on-H51/H52 are also Chrysler to Reybold. Also, been hearing crude trains to Reybold calling 64X, with the empties calling 65X. 08/15/2012 DE Dan

G8A AUSTELL, GA WHITAKER / ATLANTA, GA  INMAN INTERMODAL TRANSFER

High Speed Kurt

Changes out of New Orleans. This makes me sad as now we do not have a dedicated intermodal train from here.  Kinda defeats the purpose of the "crescent corridor" if the plan was to take trucks off the road and the business isnt there to support a daily train out of NOLA. Anyways...

As of today (Wednesday 14 August) NS discontinued the operation of
intermodal/vehicle trains 22Q and 22R at New Orleans. The trains began running
in the late 1960's as 19 and 22, and became 219 and 222 in the big system-wide
renumbering of 1970.

The trains stopped running on Saturdays back in January, and on Sundays in June.
22Q's traffic will now come in on 355, and 22R's traffic will go out on 314.

I was wondering what the NS symbol was for this train.  The Union Pacific symbol is MMVSF (Marysville, KS - Sheffield).  From what I was told, UP train MNPNL (North Platte - North Little Rock) sets out the Sheffield block at Marysville.  Over a few days, they then build a train from the accumulated set outs.  This is to free up space in North Platte and save additional classification at N Little Rock.

NS 139 and 140 have been annuled

I'm not surprised.  They were only averaging 20 or so cars most days.

276 just ran the other day, so it appears that both symbols are now used.  An empty rack train runs daily out of Jacksonville, so depending on the destination, the symbol 276, 284, or 27W is used.

I included each intermodal train's day(s) of operation.  The information is gathered from NS' intermodal schedule site.

191/192 only goes from Macon to Augusta and vice versa now. A new train known as E13 is a local between Augusta and Columbia.
