Caught this a couple days ago at Chrysler Yard in Newark, DE. Does anybody know if there are alot of these? And I assume they are for learning about all the different manway covers, unloading valves and vents. Are they used to simulate leaks also. Thank you for any help.

back in the 90's there was a tank train that ran on the NS from lake City Fl. to the port in Jacksonville. They were connected in 5 tank units that stayed together with hoses connected between the 5 and could be connected to each other for loading and unloading. liquid fertilizer was what we hauled in them back then.

It is a training unit for showing emergency responders the different types of valves and hatches associated with different payloads. Here is a picture from a training session. http://www.rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture.aspx?id=243242

Thanks. Pretty neat. Maybe one day I will try to model one.
