I have been working on the daunting task of sorting, culling, and processing the 700 + frames I shot last weekend in Chattanooga during the mainline steam debut, and the TVRM railfest. With night photography being my first love, I started on those first, and came up with 20 or so keepers.  I will be posting more from the daylight activities during the next week or so, but these will get the drivers rolling for now.

The group of local photographers and TVRM members that put together the Friday night shoot  did an outstanding job! The lighting and scenes worked wonderful, and they where very open to the ones of us who kept asking for this and that....and then the other thing. I am always trying to think "out of the box" and went for a few of the non-traditional angles, and was pleased with the results (to my eye anyway)

We managed to get some other stuff that was not part of the public shoot as well, using various light sources. I cant say enough for the friendliness and hospitality of the folks down there for letting us shoot this stuff...TVRM is a class act in my book!

Here are a few small teasers below. My entire set of night images from the event can be found at this link...hope you enjoy looking at them as much as I did taking them!

That was some good shooting. I like all of them and I'm not a rail buff.

Awsome shots EM ! Is that the southern 30 sitting off in the back there behind 4610 ? Maybe you can come and shoot a night session on the ol layout !! Lol

Yep..that was the Southern GP30, which stayed busy the whole weekend with switching duties, and then on the GA train Monday. It would have been nice to have gotten it in that lineup, but things where pretty dang tight. I dont think there was a spare car length of room on the property!

I wish they would have put the Sou GP30 in the lineup instead of that C&C GP38.
