Two Fall weekends on the NS

I have just updated my Pbase gallery with some new stuff from the 1st weekend of this month, and a few more from yesterday as well.

Saturday the 1st, EB and myself went down to TN to meet Butch and Aaron at Nemo. It was my first time visiting that area, and after all the hype I had heard from others about all the good shots there, I was ready to check it out for myself. As you have already read in previous post from the guys, the weather and the trains didnt work out that well, and I only came away with two shots from the whole day.

Saturday the 15th, we went out on the Louisville District for the afternoon, working between Waddy and Shelbyville. It was a beutiful fall day, with not a cloud in sight and plenty of trains. We came away with a lot more shots in 4 hours, than we did the entire trip to Tennessee, and only 30 minutes from home!

The  fall colors have been less than we had expected here in Ky so far, but we are off to the Roanoke area later this week for a few days. Perhaps we will get lucky with some good color up there!

When 289 came through J-town (mp288) it had 3 engines. Did they pick up the 3rd engine at Joyes?
