There are a lot of preparations for major track work going on through Hershey, Pennsylvania.  Ballast has been dumped on both mains, and, yesterday, a work train was unloading ties along #2 main . . . .

Super sized tie and surface gang, TS-31, is based at Altoona right now, and is working on the Pittsburgh mainline. Maybe it will be coming to the Harrisburg mainline next?? Whatever gang comes, traffic will get really bunched up with track work on one mainline and the Hershey Shifter, Palmyra Shifter, and Annville stone trians working on the other.

Brings back memories of when I worked with the track gangs back in the '80s in West Virginia.
