I caught a couple of trains on the western end of the Southern Tier mainline this past weekend.

First up- NS westbound 309 at the Silver Road crossing in Linden:

My second sighting was NS/CP 38T heading eastbound near the Spring Road crossing in the Town of Alexander:

All photos in this post were taken by me in Genesee County, NY. As you can see, heavy snow started to fall as 38T arrived, so I headed back to Rochester after it passed. No worries, though- I'll be back there soon.
Got questions? I can help you with the Erie Lackawanna (including predecessors), Lehigh Valley, Delaware & Hudson and the shortlines of upstate NY.

Nice! Nothing like a burned up loco in the snow! DE Dan

Thank you! As I recall, #9916 caught fire while running on CP rails (ex- D&H) in eastern NY a few months back.
