With only seven Conrail painted units left on the NS I was fortunate to catch 54A this afternoon with
trailing SD50 5420 ex.Conrail 6734 still in its blue paint. Seen here first at New Albany In. and then after crossing the Ohio River into Louisville at DI.

Here the 8846 is from Saturday-the first three engines were the power on a NB autorack at Kings Mountain.

Nice shots! There was another ex-CR SD50 in dress blue hanging around upstate NY during the spring and summer, but I never caught the unit action.
Got questions? I can help you with the Erie Lackawanna (including predecessors), Lehigh Valley, Delaware & Hudson and the shortlines of upstate NY.

Here's my shot of the 8846 at DI.

Good catch Joe, and did yall notice the cab numbers??   I had to look back through some old stuff to satisfy my curiosity, and I shot that unit in late 2009 with the "regular" ugly patch on the cab sides.  Looks like someone took the time to make that look a little better!

The heck with Gevo-Smurf, this is REAL heritage on a real engine :)
