The Rochester & Genesee Valley Railroad Museum (http://rgvrrm.org) and Livonia, Avon & Lakeville RR teamed up last month for a day of excursions just as the leaves peaked in my neck of the woods. Here's a breakdown of what we had:
1. A pair of LA&L C425s (one ex SP&S and one ex-NH)
2. The last surviving RS36 from NKP's fleet
3. A quartet of restored NYC Budd coaches (from the museum)
4. A scenic section of the former Erie RR/Erie Lackawanna Rochester Division (now the LA&L mainline)
5. Dedicated museum volunteers who were VERY helpful
6. A sharp LS&L loco crew that gave us smooth, safe ride and plenty of smoke (aka magic Alco dust)
And away we go! Number 428 was ready for the first excursion of the day at Lakeville. She led the northbound trips.

There were 4 excursions that day. In addition to riding the first excursion, I also chased excursions #2 and #3. Mind you, I was doing this on less than 5 hours of sleep (owing to a concert in Buffalo the night before), so I bowed out around 3 PM so I could go home and rest.
