The warm temps where gone, but the sun was back in full force today, meaning we had to get out and about for awhile. Eb had been listening to the radio trying to decided which way to go, and we choose to go West and see what we could find on the Louisville District. It didn't sound like much was running after the holiday shutdown, but we did luck into a Eastbound working the yard at Shelbyville, a NS I-85.
Seeing as how I-85 had pure EMD power, we wound up following him back East all the way to Talmage, where we would see our only other train of the day, the 168.

Just as the train was leaving Talmage, this young fellow came bounding across the tracks and straight for us..It was all I could do to keep him off the road and running in front of the train. He seemed to take a likening to EB, and came close to knocking his camera to the ground jumping up on him..

I like the dog of all the shots the best.
Nice, seems as though there are quite a few loose dogs in those parts...
Listening to beagles chasing a rabbit would be great way to spend time between trains.
