Title: 3 trains in 20 minutes and lunch too.
Post by: Ed Fury on December 01, 2010, 05:55:15 PM
Photo #1 12:40 Buechel Depot (Buechel, Ky) nice SD60 leading an autorack train.

Photo #2 12:50 Six Mile Lane (Jeffersontown, Ky) and old standard cab dash9 leading an autorack. The second train was creeping along. I have only seen one train go slower through this stretch of track and it was because the lead engine had gone out and it was being pushed from the rear with the set of engines off the daily coil train. I figured they were giving the train in front room to get ahead of them but by the time this train was in J-Town the other one had to have been under I65.

I decided since there were two trains in 10 minutes I'd head over to Qdoba for lunch. As I pulled into the parking lot and got out I hear another Eastbound train. My receipt said 1:01pm.

Headed back out and caught the afternoon intermodal with an ES40DC leading another SD60. I rarely see any ES40 units and another SD60 made up for the wind chill being in the 20's and a nasty gray sky. Around 3pm was when this train arrived at Whitner.

I miss those days of being able to watch trains at lunch !   Cookeville, TN rarely gives you the luxury.  haha

Oh, I get the luxury of trainwatching at lunchtime (if it's not snowing!) but the action is CSX. I don't hate CSX, though. I am glad an active mainline is just 2 blocks from my office.
