Title: NS 9118 DASH-UR#1
Post by: Ed Fury on October 17, 2010, 01:33:23 AM
Passing by the Buechel Depot in Louisville Kentucky earlier today I see the light is red for a train. So I pulled in and got my cameras out. Seems I caught the famous NS 9118 DASH-UR#1 locomotive. I caught this on video too. I have not watched it yet... But with the sun glare the photo was basically useless anyways.

Seems I caught him in a good mood the second time.

Here's a couple more. The first one they backed into Whitner and dropped off all the double stacks.

The second one is a close up of two of the five units headed West to Youngstown Yard. Yes the doors were open when they passed by the depot earlier.

Okay, I'll ask. Why is 9118 any different from any other catfish dash-9?

I'd say it's due to the "universal sign of peace  " portrayed by the hand signal the conductor is giving.
