My plan of getting up early and heading out this morning to shoot down South of Danville got laid to rest early in the day. After watching the ATCS and listening to the radio this morning it became obvious that it would not be worth the trouble of the bad roads and wasted gas to get to far from home. For the Second day in a row it seemed that the NS was not running much. It was rather chilly anyway, so I wasnt in much of a hurry to go out in the cold air....

Around 1000 or so, I heard a rather late 376 on the radio and ran down to Vanarsdale to shoot him. He would go in the siding at Talmage and tie down for almost 3 hours.
NS 376 at Vanarsdale.

We went back to the house to warm up and see what else the day would bring. Around noon the radio was alive with trains, and we headed back out to shoot for the rest of the afternoon.
The power for local T19 tired down in the house track for the weekend at Lawrencburg (KY)

Carmon shoots the Westbound 22A as they pass through town. They were following the 375 and meeting 23G at Coal Chute.

Shortly after 375 and 22A got out of the way, 23G made a run for Talmage, where he would sit for a good while. Here is 23G getting them moving away from the meet at Lawrenceburg.

After 23G got by, we eased on a little further West to Avenstoke to shoot the 285, which had met the 375 and 22A at Waddy.

After hearing on the radio that the 23G and 285 would meet a pair of Westbounds at Talmage, we turned back South to get back in the action. A hour spent around Talmage netted several good shots.
285 is "easing around" at the West end of Talmage siding, getting ready to head in behind the 23G that we had shot in Lawrenceburg over 2 hours ago.

We waited for a pair of Westbounds, 29G and 25N, to get by before we shot the 23G and 285 leaving the East end of the siding at Talmage. Here they are in order..

Nice series of shots Emmett. It was definitly a Dash 9 kind of a day.I myself took a notion to explore your
backyard and after church this morning headed east.I caught five southbounds between 1 and 5:30 between Bowen and Parkers Lake before heading home.Still a fun day.
Cant wait to see your pics Joe, you need to start sharing some on here...you always do great work and I am sure everyone would love to see.
I will probably be kicking myself for NOT going on South, but it was a judgment call this morning. Heck, I went to bed early last night and everything just to be ready to go this morning :)
