A joint effort of the Portsmouth, OH based Lake and Pocahontas Divisions employees yeilded a Christmas caboose. Said caboose was on display and open to NS employees and their families on December 10th and 11th in Portsmouth, OH. Santa and Mrs. Claus were the hosts and provided a lot of goodies for the children (and even some of the adults!) that visited. Said employees had plenty of coffee, hot chocolate, hot dogs, cookies, and hospitality for all.
My step-father was selected (read: volunteered) to be Santa's photographer as he won the cover shot for the 2010 NS calendar. Of course, he took yours truly along for the 2 day event.
The employees did a fine job of renovating the caboose inside and out. Sure was nice to see a family style event again.
