It appears that through trains are running on the Pokey as of Tuesday May 12 2009. We missed 218 or 234 at Ironton around 4:00 pm. Caught 217 leaving Portsmouth around 7:00 pm which is it's normal time.
1) 217 passing under the large cantilever signal bridge for Galia Street interlocking at the west end of Portsmouth Ohio yard.
2) Close up of the two locomotives, note the signal has a restrictive aspect for the eastbound coal train below.
3) Going away shot, you may be able to see the clear signal on the tower structure at Lincloln St.
4) At Spring Lane, N & W CPLs with a single stack intermodal 217 and active N & W style codeline poles behind.
5) Eastbound coal train passing 217 at Spring Lane in Portsmouth Ohio.
6) Other view, the Portsmouth station, looking under the US 23 bridge and to the right of the tracks, later used as the Scioto Division Headquaters was torn down several years ago and a small prision built in it's place.
7) My mom used to live on Spring Lane, back in the fifties. Coal trains and the CPLs are still present, but alot has changed in general.
