Title: CSX Q539 on the Big Orange Bridge in Knoxville
Post by: ssmith1627 on January 05, 2009, 06:47:55 PM
Not the best light but caught them clearing this train today.  I thought it was departing but it just went out on the bridge and stopped 3/4 of the way over.  Very convenient for my picture taking.  They then backed into the CSX yard, I assume to connect with another cut of cars.

Like I said, not great light but I was still happy to catch a train out on one of the bridges in downtown.

Can anyone tell me what this thing is to the right of the lead engine ?   Some kind of signal no longer in use ?

The code line wires used to be supported by the horizontal bars.

Thanks.  I looked and found some sites talking about code line wires.  Time for me to do some more reading.
