The high point of the day......my son meeting Santa. The low point.......my son telling he wanted pink presents for Christmas........
The mind of a 3 year old.......there's no understanding it !

Nice pictures, Steve! Your pictures are looking very sharp, what were your camera settings? Are you processing your pictures at all?
You can say that but today I took about 50 and didn't get one worth saving. Tonight the light was the issue. I was waiting on 15T to head down the West End when I got a surprise visit from 132 heading toward the yard. I snapped off quite a few but it was heading near dark and I got nothing.
Yesterday in the sun wasn't bad with the Christmas Express. I had the ISO 400 setting. I need to experiment more with the P setting -- so far I'm still using "auto". And no, the ones from downtown yesterday were not processed at all. Just a quick post.
Thanks for looking and thanks for the feedback. I'm learning. I'm tired of these overcast days though ! Maybe I'll get a chance to shoot some on the west end tomorrow.

I'm not sure that the ISO 400 setting will be used while in auto; in auto, the camera chooses its own ISO setting. Using program mode, however, will ensure that the ISO is at whatever setting you choose.
That does make sense but I didn't think about it until you just said that. Let me play with the camera some more. I know it does show the ISO 400 up in the corner even when Auto mode.
I'm still a beginner. I want to learn though.

It does seem to use the same shutter speed and F stop with an ISO setting of 400 in either P mode or Auto. I don't see a difference. Should I ?
Now I haven't tried the ISO 400 with either shutter or aperture priority mode.
