HAD TO PICK UP AND DROP OFF CARS WITH THE NS. THEY GOT PERMISSION TO OCCUPY THE INTERLOCKER AND THEN BACKED INTO THE INTERCHANGE TRACK. THE ENGINES JUST BARELY CLEARED THE BONDS AND THE NS DISPATCHER LINED THE WESTBOUND 267 AT THAT POINT. INNOCENT ENOUGH UNTIL THE TPW THEN PROCEEDED FORWARD AND KNOCKED DOWN THE SIGNAL FOR THE NS 267. FORTUNATELY, 267 WAS STILL A HALF MILE AWAY AND NEVER ACTUALLY SAW THE SIGNAL DROP. COULD HAVE BEEN A MESS.

Interesting situation with the Tip-Up. I am unfamiliar with the trackage at Logansport. If the TPW job cleared the interlocker, wouldn't they have needed a signal from the NS dispatcher before fouling the interlocker a second time?
Yes they would. I believe that he thought he was still over the bond fouling the interlocker and just went about making his move not realizing that he cleared it and the NS dispatcher lined up 267.
