Post by: TRNBUF on November 04, 2007, 10:18:24 PM
I got out a little today(Sunday) and caught a few trains since the
weather was nice. It was a little bit slower than normal but all in
all had a good day. Here is what I came up with, enjoy!!!

Eastbound NS #223 passes milepost 79 just East of Dix, IL on the NS
Illinois Division. Checkout to two different number boards.

Eastbound NS #24G passes a wheat field and an apple orchard on its way
to Mt. Vernon on the NS Illinois Division.

Nice pictures.  I worked a derailment in 1971 on the curve just to the west of the 79 milepost.  Two of the three units and about 40 cars.  Nice one.  Also flagged for a weed spray train that killed a bunch of apple trees in the orchard to the right of the units.  Those were the good old days.
