I headed out bright and early this morning to shoot the 143 that was reported to be out of Cinncy with a KCSM unit leading. A quick spin around the yard at Danville netted nothing of interest except another KCSM unit in the East Yard on the point of a Northbound (never saw him leave) and Two sets of Buttheads working both sides of the yard. Its nice to see the SW's and MP's back working Danville, instead of road power.
Here is the 2292 sitting in the sun on the East side at Danville.

The radio had been busy and I knew there was a parade of Soutbounds on the way. I87 (Eye 87) was having trouble up around High Bridge, and had 55A, 117 and 143 all trapped behind him. Also in the mix was 230, 180 and 144 all stacked up between Danville and Faulkner waiting on I87 to get on the move. I headed out to the wye to wait out the 143 and shoot the rest of the Southbounds.
First up was the 55A grain train, seen here at North Wye passing the rear end of 180 who was stuck at Faulkner.

After 55A got by me, I noticed a rather large and menacing white dog headed my way, and it looked non to happy to see me. Lucky for me, all it wanted was a good sniff and to be petted. The dogs owner, a lady named Mona who lives nearby, came to retrieve her pooch, and struck up a conversation about pets. The dogs name was Sheba, and was not nearly as threatening as she looked...

This nice lady went on to tell me how she was raising coons, and soon went back to her house, only to reappear with a dad burned coon (named Jake) on a leash, walking beside her like a dog. Jake was a pretty cool little fellow, and proceeded to climb my leg like a tree, get on my shoulder and give me a big ol coon kiss on the nose. Trust me, that is about the oddest thing I have ever had happen at North Wye....ever...
Mona, and Jake...

I just beat the 143 down to Bowen, and got him headed out onto single track. This was about my best shot of the day.
