I once had an extended conversation a few years ago with this fellow that was an airplane photographer. He kept going on and on and on about how boring RR photography was..nothing but boring ol 3/4 roster shots of locomotives for the most part he said..how could anyone waste their time like that when there where big shiny airplanes to shoot.
I asked him where he took airplane shots at for the most part. He replied at the aiport, through the fence while they where parked at the terminal. Hmmm I said, sounds like boring ol 3/4 wedgie rosters of planes of you ask me...he could not produce a witty retort....
I have no idea why that came to mind tonight, but its kinda funny anyway.. Here are some boring ol 3/4 rosters from last weekend, a few front and rear coupled and not worth the waste of bandwith probably but at least its all EMD..thats gotta count for something..

Yea a 3/4 roster shot of an airplane can be boring. But then again it can be anything but boring...

I got a chuckle out of seeing the NW 857. Here are two shots of her. The first is at Kokomo, Indiana as she gets renumbered in WSRY 1754. The second is the finished unit taken in Logansport, Indiana. She is still going strong today.
TripleCrown
Good to know the 857 is still alive and kicking in some form..looks like they stripped her personality though. She went from a RS5T to what looks like a P3 or P5...such a shame..
There's nothing boring about a bunch of 3/4 shots of units that don't turn a wheel anymore! Even 3/4 shots of old GE units can get my attention.I can't believe I just said that :o
