Post by: SOU4501 on April 14, 2007, 11:06:13 PM
This week filming for the movie "Leatherheads" starring George Clooney and Renee Zellweger has been going on at the North Carolina Transportation Museum in Spencer,NC and the old Southern Ry station in Salisbury,NC.  Several pieces of equipment from the museum were used in the movie, most notably Southern Ry Class J 2-8-0 #542. For the movie #542 was given the tender, headlight and number from one of the museums other steam locomotives #604 (ex-Buffalo Creek & Gauley RR #4).

Here are a few pictures of #542 on the set of "Leatherheads" plus a few extras...

I can guarantee more pictures were taken of the steam locomotive than ol' George during the 4 days they were here. It seemed like everybody who came by the passenger station took a picture of it.
