Due to work, wasn't able to catch Mr Moorman's new toys on their first run, but was able to bag them returning to Altoona on Tuesday. The weather acutally cooperated and since both B-units were offline, the chase was made easier as the train travelled over the former Southern B-line between Manassas and Front Royal, VA.
Here are a few shots from the chase:
1. 955 passes though the village of Delaplane, VA, in the heart of the Viriginia Horse Country.
2. Just west of Markham, VA, 955 struggles up Linden Hill with both B-units offline.
3. An overhead shot taken at the top of the grade at Linden.
4. Holding the main at Woods siding, approaching Front Royal with the Blue Ridge mountains in the background.
Excellent That shot at Woods in very impressive. I bet the foam was knee deep up there..how did you ever manage :)!

Note that like any good Anti-Phoam he was up on a hill looking down. All the foamers were down in the cut taking their 3/4 wedgies.
Very nice! It's too bad that my late Uncle Phil can't see these; He loved the bulldog look. :(
I had a 3/4 wedgie once, but that sucker pulled right out..
Loved the Woods shot, that makes a great desktop photo. Bet you were waist-deep in foam after seeing this. ;)
