I grew up in New York's Southern Tier region, where fog is common in the summer and early fall. It is much less common closer to the Great Lakes, but I did encounter it on an outing a week ago today. There were pockets of heavy fog in Buffalo.
I'd never seen fog at Tifft Street in Southern Buffalo before. It cool to hear the power for NS local H42 in the distance and then see the SD40-2 come out of the fog:
