Title: Awesome day on the Norfolk District!
Post by: TheVARailFan on April 12, 2015, 01:27:30 AM
Went out to Windsor on the Norfolk District to meet up with a good buddy of mine and had a great day, it certainly was worth coming home red as a tomato!

Half-an-hour after our arrival NS 820 rolls by, with a common surprise lurking second out.

A convoy of Army Trucks and an hour later, NS 236 rolls by with a CP Gevo fourth out.

A two hour lull slowly passes by, and we get NS 234.

Now, for the real show! The two manifests that run the Norfolk District pass within two minutes of each other, the V17 crept up on us and I didn't have time to grab my camera, but I caught the V18 with the best engineer on the district and a fresh SD40-2 third out.

It is now too dark to get any decent shots of the 233, second 236 (not run as a second segment though), or 02G (Amtrak Northeast Regional #71), I did however, make one more discovery before we switched to our video cameras.

Anybody know what it is?

Great pictures from the "peanut country"... I remember commin thru here as a boy on the old N & W on the way to Portsmouth to stay with my dear aunt and uncle; who, by the way, worked on the N & W...
