Title: A nice T79
Post by: srman on September 15, 2014, 06:16:12 PM
Our area (Louisville Ky.) doesn't get lash ups like these much on the NS however this afternoon I was able to catch the Louisville to Shelbyville job with a pair of SD40-2's. The 3506 is one of the recent rebuilds and was built as Milwaukee Road 202 back in 1974.

On the way back West tonight T79 came about as close as I've ever seen to NOT hitting a car.

Crossing gates down. Car drives right around them. T79 is right there. I'm not sure how many inches it was but I had my eyes closed and was bracing myself for impact and I was about 30 to 40 yards away. I was safely out of the way but would have been able to photograph the whole thing if it had impacted.

Great pictures from both... There is no greater subject for an NS (...SRR or NW...) fan than an SD40; rebuilt or not... Thanks for takin the time to post these great pictures...
