A couple of days ago, the NYC was leading 295 south down the CNO&TP and the Ringling Brothers Circus Train was headed north toward Cincinnati. I caught up with the NYC in Danville and grabbed it by the searchlights at South Danville and just caught up to it at Bowen. I was wanting to get it in Gradison, but OTTO had other ideas. He decided to stop 117 at Gradison to allow northbound traffic to run first. Which decided not to be so bad after all. The first northbound up was NS 048, the Ringling Brothers Circus Train.
I got what I could at Gradison and it sounded like 117 was about to be on the move so I went back down to the other crossing to get him and 295. But, again, OTTO wanted a northbound to go first, so I gave up and chased down the Circus Train. It took until Danville to catch up to it but I got it coming through a nearly empty yard as it went straight through without stopping. Luckily, 170 was having trouble in Lexington and it shut down the 1st District for almost an hour and that allowed me one last shot of 048 at North Wye.
