Post by: RailfanTerry on December 01, 2013, 02:41:12 PM
On 11/30/2013 made a trip to the NS Alabama Division - East End Memphis District to do a little railfanning for the clouds rolled in.

[1] NS Train 334 heads East Bound to Chattanooga at Trinity, AL
[2] East Bound NS Train 738 heads for Chattanooga at Trinity, AL, too bad that SD70Ace was not leading today.
[3] With its reflection in the water NS Local A12 heads East for Wheeler at Cortland, AL, A12 switches International Paper at North Cortland, AL the paper mill is to close down after the first of the year.
[4] NS local A12 backs its train up the Champion Paper Mill Branch, NS Caboose ex Southern #555705 has seen better days but it's nice to see a Caboose being used.
[5] NS local A12 on the Champion Paper Mill Branch.
[6] NS Train 22N heads East bound to Chattanooga under the Jefferson ST Bridge at Courtland, AL

Chip it can get quit busy at times, East Bound Trains you got 162, 202, 22N, 362, 334 West Bound Trains 163, 201, 23N, 325, 335 plus you got the Coal Trains and the locals
A12 Sheffield Yard - Wheeler, AL (EMCO LOCAL) TURN
A81 Decatur, AL - Scottsboro, AL (Hollywood TURN) goes to Scottsboro on Tues/Thurs.
A82 Decatur, AL - Sheffield Yard TURN
A85 Decatur, AL - Scottsboro, AL is evening local. TURN

The good thing is if it's get dead you can head over to Decatur for some CSX action, or you can hang out at Decatur, AL and see all the CSX and NS trains
