Title: Steam and Heritage on the last roadtrips of the year.
Post by: CarmonH on November 26, 2013, 09:27:49 PM
I finally have most of my favorites from earlier this month processed and up on Pbase.  Southern 630 on trips to Asheville, Attalla and Oneida TN, plus a few other goodies from the road. We had pretty good luck considering the bad weather, and it was great to get out and see a lot of you again.

With the 4501 nearing completion of its long overhaul, we may not have the chance to see the 630 on the mainline all that much in the future. While it will be great to see the 4501 on the road, it was good to be able to get out and see 630 while we had the chance.

Be sure to take a look on Pbase to see everything! http://www.pbase.com/kd4jsl/ns13clb

The tree's are bare and the sound of hard working steam is in the air. SR 630 was working hard to drag a pair of dead diesels and its train up the gorge near Alexander, NC.

While the 630 was in Asheville, EB got word about the CNJ heritage unit coming West towards us. With only a few minutes to spare, we beat it up to the tunnel at Ridgecrest NC tunnel.

Due to some delay in Asheville to swap out the dead slug set, it was almost dark before the Westbound 630 rolled through downtown Marshal NC.
