I have not had much of a chance the past 3 months to get out with EB and shoot, due to some health problems with my dad and a few other things. Finally, things seem to be settling down and I was able to get out with the boys yesterday (Saturday 09/14/13) for a few hours South of Danville, KY
All of the new stuff can be seen at this link. http://www.pbase.com/kd4jsl/ns13clb (http://www.pbase.com/kd4jsl/ns13clb)
Back at the end of August, I was able to shoot 23G close to home with the Erie Heritage unit as the DPU. The lead unit on the train, a fairly new GE, had died and the crew was using the open door AC as the train struggled through Vanarsdale, Ky. With the lead unit being nothing more than dead weight and a steering wheel, the 1068 seemed to be doing most of the work.

Saturday 09/14 we headed to Danville to pick up Gage and then met up with Aaron to spend the day shooting what ever was running. The weather was cool and clear, and the trains plentiful.
The first train of the day was 167 with a UP SD70M leading. The Goldenrod in the field made a nice accent for the Yellow EMD at Bowen, KY

Later in the day, we hung out at Kings Mountain for a couple of hours during a lull in traffic. We had not planned on going any further South, but when the boys saw what was leading train I-75, those plans changed in about 5 seconds. Here is I-75 clawing its ways up the hill at Kings Mountain, Ky with a former N&W SD40-2 filling the cut with some sweet EMD music.

Late in the afternoon, a fresh looking GE brings Northbound 57X under the signals at Southfork, Ky.

The boys hanging out on the wrong side of the track at Gradison, Ky after shooting that SD40-2 again. Just look at that afterglow on my husbands face...I know that look :)
