I had a great day out in Buffalo a few weeks back. Sorry for the delay- work, family matters and the bands I photograph here in Rochester had occupied my attention of late.
The trip started in one of the busiest spots in the area- Buffalo Creek Junction. NS local H0K was working in the area.

CSX's Chicago Line was also busy at Buffalo Creek Junction... including this triple meet. Left to right: Amtrak's eastbound Lake Shore Limited, a westbound CSX mixed freight and an eastbound CSX unit gondola train with BNSF power.

I spent the late morning and early afternoon at CP Draw- a very busy bridge which carries traffic ffrom CSX, NS, Amtrak, the B&P and the Buffalo Southern.
GP38-2 #5640, which had powered H0K earlier, was tied down in the former NKP/N&W yard near the bridge.

The B&P local crosses CP Draw- as seen from the riverbank at Red Jacket Park.

the former DL&W passenger main passes through the park. It made a nice perch to capture the action at CP Draw. I watched 4 westbound CSX intermodal freights cross the bridge, but I was really hoping for an eastbound freight. My wish was granted by NS 310.

This is a rare view of Bison yard from the west side of Harlem Road. There is only a narrow bike bath on west side of the bridge, so I will come over if road traffic is light.

I found something interesting- NS has been storing crossing gates on top of a container in Bison Yard of late.

I did spend some time next to the former NKP in Blasdell after dinner, but caught no action before heading to the beach to enjoy the sunset. Oh well, one "strike" doesn't bother me. This pictorial was another fun day in Buffalo. I hope y'all enjoy it, too.

Thanx! I can only guess that maybe NS puts the gates on top of the container so they won't be stolen. It's not a bad neighborhood, but scrappers who steal are pretty active in greater Buffalo. Thieves ruined a nice high nose C420 on the Buffalo Southern when they tore out her electrical wire a few years ago.
